FOTOZ! †

Hey guys... here's some photos from snowboarding the last few weeks. Most of them are screen shots of video footage so the quality isn't that great. Enjoy!

Tail Bonk

Airing the second half of the rail..

"My perfect world"

This feature actually has trannie on both sides as well as the lip... For a week or two I had been airing over the corner and bonking the side of the barrel, trying to get my guts up to air over this barrel for a couple weeks. I was watching some kids airing it and tapping on the top and it looked really cool. Although it doesn't look it... the top of the barrel is HIGH.

SO, I said a little prayer... and dropped in for my first attempt. Not knowing how fast to hit it, I figured it would be better to go a little to fast than to not have enough speed, slamming into the barrel. I cleared the barrel and the landing and dropped it pretty flat from pretty high up. Luckily it didn't hurt to much, then on to round two.Second attempt. actually got the tap that time and landed smooth. SO FUN!

EXTREME CREATOR! †

I'm taking Chemistry this year and I thought it would be boring and hard. Well, it was, until I realized that whether it's chemistry, math, history, or whatever, GOD MADE IT ALL AND IS IN IT ALL. So in essence, I'm not wasting my time studying the quantum mechanical electron configuration of an atom, or Renaissance art and the French Revolution. I'm learning about GOD.

Anyway... my real point is to show you guys something I read in chemistry this week which I found VERY interesting. Although it may seem confusing at first, bear with me and read it through.

From my chemistry book:

“In order for all atoms except 1H to exist, we must have neutrons. Well, it turns out that the neutron is just slightly more massive than the proton. It’s a good thing too. Nuclear chemistry experiments indicate that the neutron must be more massive than the proton, or it would not exist! Calculations indicate that if the mass difference between the neutron and the proton were changed by as little as 0.2%, all neutrons would spontaneously decay into proton, and the only atom in the universe would be Hydrogen-1. If that were the case, no life could exist in the universe!”

But wait! There's more!

“Believe it or not, we have not even reached the most amazing design feature of the atom! As we have already noted, protons are positively charged while electrons are negatively charged. These opposite charges are what holed the electrons to the atom, keeping them from flying away from the nucleus. The problem is, in order fro the atom to be stable, the charges must be precisely balanced. According to our best measurements, the proton has EXACTLY as much positive charge as the electron has negative charge. That’s a good thing too, because calculations indicated that if the charges were out of balance by as little as 0.00000001%, ALL OF THE ATOMS IN OUR BODIES WOULD INSTANTANEOUSLY EXPLODE!”

“The most important thing to realize is that these atoms are the SIMPLEST building blocks of matter. Even these very simple building blocks, however, have delicately balanced parts which all work together to give the atom its properties. If one of these parts were even slightly altered, the delicate balance would be destroyed, and the chemistry necessary for life would be FOREVER lost.”

Interesting huh? So tell me... do you really think that delicate balance could just happen randomly? Even WITH millions or billions of years to happen, IT COULDN'T! I don't care if you gave it all the time in the world! Know why? Like that last paragraph said, you get ONE SHOT at it turning out right. If not? The "chemistry necessary for life would be FOREVER LOST" In other words... YOU = NOT HERE!! And that's only the BASIC building blocks of matter! The most simple part that Evolution would have to create.

No Creator? You might want to reconsider.

Shredding the Backwoods †

Hey guys! As most most of you know, I go snowboarding almost every day. That said, it should come as no surprise when I tell you that I went snowboarding today. However, I didn't ACTUALLY snowboard that much. Today I went with the purpose of bagging some good snowboarding photos.

Here's what I got!

Photography †

I'd say I am somewhat of a amateur when it comes to photography. However, it's always something I've enjoyed dabbling with. For a while, I haven't really been taking photos for the sake of good photography.

The other day, some of God's awesome creation kinda got me snapping away, and now I've been stuck in that mode for a day or two.

Enjoy :)

Snowboard Resolution 09-10 †

Hey everybody, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Life has been kinda crazy with Christmas and new years and everything.

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas break... I sure did! Lots of snowboarding, and good friends. For new years I went snowboarding with some good friends of mine. We went on Wednesday though, because I didn't really want to be out driving new years eve with all the drunk drivers everywhere.

As we go into a new year, a new decade, we often think of resolutions and such. As far as new years resolutions go... I don't really make a big deal with that kinda thing. BUT I do want to tell about a "resolution" or decision that I have made for this snowboarding season and this new year.

Snowboarding, as many of you know, is a big deal to me. It's what I do. In the winter, I live and breath snowboarding.

Now, snowboarding, in it's self, is not a bad thing. But if anything, (whether it be snowboarding... videogames... a relationship... whatever) becomes what consumes your thoughts... and becomes first priority in your life, there IS something wrong. As a Christian, anything that takes first place... or even causes us to take our sight off Christ and onto ourselves, is an idol.

In the past snowboarding has become that in my life. Also hanging out with the wrong kind of people while snowboarding, I have seen myself beginning to act and think completely opposite to the TRUTH of God's word.

This year... I have made a "deal" with God about snowboarding. I have resolved to give God everything. And to make it about GOD and the bigger picture of SAVING SOULS for his glory, instead of about ME and my little kingdom of my fun and my pride. Praying each time I go for safety and that God would keep my heart open to him so that he can use me as a tool to reach souls. Because really... that's all that lasts.

I have "Jesus" all over my snowboard and my clothes. And people see it and talk to me about it quite often... that's my ministry. Guys, we need to be using WHATEVER it is that we do... for the GLORY OF OUR GOD. So that people will see him in us and his LOVE shining through us.

Just a thought....
