New Song I Wrote

IF ONLY

Verse 1:

Me and you, and us forever

Maybe soon, or maybe never

We live and we dream, we hope and we scheme

But our plans, don’t last forever

Chorus:

If only, if only, if only life were this easy

If only, God would show me, where we would be

But faith, is what I cannot see

If only

Verse 2:

I have my plans, what my life is for

But so do you, God you have more

You made me, you love me, your ways are above me

I can’t wait to see, what you have in store

Bridge:

If only things could stay, stay this way

But you give me strength, for each new day

Lord, be my guide, cuz this faith is blind

Take your will, and make it mine

Kissing Bridge OPENING DAY!!

Kissing Bridge (the ski resort I snowboard at) opens TOMORROW!! I can't wait! I saw these pics on their website and it got me sooo stoked.

Although there will only be one or two hills open, I heard from my inside source that they will be setting up a rail or two at the top of Holly. Something about "kids not having anything to do and therefor getting into trouble" haha. Sad but true. But that made me happy that we'll have stuff to do on just a couple hills.

Twist and Coalshute should be open any day which probably means more rails. At least I hope!

Blizzard

Almost 3 feet of snow in the last 3 days two days! Yeah, I'm in heaven. On Thursday before we got all the snow we only had about 4 inches. That didn't stop me and my friends from breaking out the snowboards though! I geared up and drove down the road to my friends house.

We built a jump and were hitting it. Then we started looking for something to do some slides on when I spotted the picnic table in his front yard. We built a ramp to it and started droppin some sliders.

As I was hitting it I was thinking to myself "Man, if I go just a little faster I could air completely over the whole table." They managed to get a couple vids of me so here ya go!

"Scrooge"

This weekend was AMAZING!

Firstly, I passed my road test on Thursday so I am now a legal, junior-licensed driver. Which really opens up possibilities for me.

On Friday, I went to my friends party and that was super cool.

Then Saturday afternoon I headed out by myself to the house of my best friend from camp. He lives an hour and a half away from where I live so I don't get to see him very often. So, as you can imagine... I was pretty excited.

When I got there I headed off with part of his family to a big theater production they are in with Family Life Ministries. It was a musical of the story "A Christmas Carol" It was AMAZING!! He and his sister were both in it and were GREAT!! I was amazed.

It was a dinner theater actually and I sat at a table with a bunch of friends from the camp I worked at this summer. It was great to see them since the last time I saw them was about 4 months ago.

After the play I went home with my friend and spent the night and after talking until 3 in the morning, went to church with his family on Sunday. Then spent another night and drove home Monday morning (my birthday) after driving him and his sister to school. :)

Practice Makes..... Felonies

I'm taking my road test on Thursday so I've been working on my parallel parking a lot lately. Usually I just practice in my driveway, but I wanted to practice in town with actual curbs. So we took two vehicles down town and drove through the entire town trying to find a side street with curbs but with no luck. (Small town)

Finally we found a street by the park with curbs! We were so happy that we found the PERFECT place to practice that we failed to notice something kind of important... the "no parking" signs.

We practiced for quite some time and were just rapping it up when we noticed them. My mom and I kind of laughed and said "Good thing no cops came by."

We had to leave the van we were practicing on there and go pick up my brother Erik from the library. So Mom was going to move the van to the parking lot of the town park, BUT, she was reaching in a drawer in the car to find some advil for her headache.. and sliced her finger open on an open razor that was laying amidst the junk. So I had to park the van while she waited in the other vehicle.

I parked it and as I was walking back, a cop comes driving up the road and looking around! Right where my van had been not two minutes ago! haha I just gave him the "whats up" head-nod and jumped in the van and booked it outa there! It was pretty funny.

Flexing Your SPIRITUAL Muscles!

1 Timothy 4:6-10

6. If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.
7.
Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;
8. for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
9.
The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance.
10. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

We were going over this in Sunday school the last few weeks and it kinda stuck out to me.

I like to work out some and exercise... stay in shape. When you consistently and diligently discipline yourself, and train yourself physically, what happens? You gain self control, and have something to show for it. (muscle)

Like it says in verse 8, physical training is great, but training yourself in godliness is of value in EVERY WAY! Which is so true, especially as Christians. Like in verse 6 we need to be training ourselves in the God's word constantly and consistently. With a plan! So we can be "good servants of Christ" and be able to flex our "spiritual muscles".

Just as if you have been working out physically and are in shape it shows, people should be able to tell if we are training ourselves diligently in God's word.

So what's your spiritual "work out routine?" Do you have a plan and focus to be growing spiritually?

Of tuxedos, video games and oatmeal cookies

Saturday I was the wedding of a couple that goes to my church. I was ushering. It was pretty sweet because we got to wear tuxes! hehe. Friday night I went to the rehearsal, then spent the night at my best friend kaleb's house. (Who was also in the wedding)

It was ridiculous. Super rad though. Some good friends came over that I hadn't seen in a long time, and we all played Call of Duty Modern Warfare til 3:30 in the morning. Then camped out on the game room floor. We didn't actually go to sleep until about 4:30 and then got up at 8:00. After a breakfast of eggs, toast, and Save-a-Lot oatmeal cookies, we headed out to the wedding. Suffice to say I slept well Saturday night. haha

Here's some pics of the tux... with a skateboard of course.

Trunk or Treat!

Monday night my church did an event called "Trunk or Treat." Usually on Monday nights they do something for the kids called "AWANA" clubs, and every year do an "AWANA FAIR." (Basically a bunch of booths set up in the gym and the kiddies go from booth to booth, play the activity at the booth and get candy.

But this year we did "Trunk or Treat." What it was is this: A bunch of people park their vehicles in a BIG circle with the trunks facing in. Each person decorates their trunk with a "theme" and then the kids get dressed up and come around from trunk to trunk getting candy.

I was one of the trunks. Try and take a wild guess at what theme mine was. haha SKATEBOARDING!! Oh yeah! I had my ramps set up in front of my trunk, and graffiti (done by yours truly) on everything.

IT

WAS

THE

BOMB!!

I also had a TV hooked up to a infra-red camera so the little kiddies could see themselves on the TV. It was pretty fun. And then with a press of a button... SKATE VIDEOS! (Of course)

We had some cutouts from skateboard magazines taped up in the extra space. Altho there wasn't much left over space. I had my broken skateboards EVERYWHERE. There's a total of 13 skateboards in this picture... see if you can spot them. hahaha

Fright Night 2009

Yesterday I went to an event hosted by Circle "C" Ranch... called "Fright Night." It was SO much fun, hanging out with my best friends, as well as seeing some people I haven't seen in a long time.

We went through the walk-through-asylum thing they had. That was so much fun, we were just messing with the creepy people and trying to get them to crack up the whole time. I told the one crazy girl that grabbed my shoulder to call me and she cracked up.

Me and my friends played four-square for hours! I haven't played that game in SO long so it was blast! Kaleb and I were reminiscing the old days when we were little kids and four-square was like food... it was the bomb. haha

At the end of the night everyone went up to the chapel and did activities, they gave out prizes and all that great stuff. They did a skit called "Bright Eyes" it was basically a similar plot to the skit our group did for Teen Power Up called "Everything" and had a strong salvation message. Then Wayne Aarum came up and explained the skit and the free gift of salvation. And did an altar call. Something like 2o kids went foward and said they had prayed and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior that night! Praise GOD!!

Have you made that decision? Don't wait. Because time doesn't wait.

SNOW!!

Last Thursday it snowed for the first time this season! I was so pumped. I ran and got my camera and started shooting photos everywhere, and yes, made a mini snowman-dude.

It didn't stick much that afternoon. However it continued to snow all night, so on Friday morning I woke up to find everything covered in the white fluffy goodness.

It's all gone now, but for the better I guess. I have to take my road test in under two weeks and would like to not have snow to mess me up.

All my friends all think I'm crazy because of my love for snow. All except the ones that snowboard or ski that is! This time of year is so hard sometimes because the off-and-on snow makes everything in me itch to snowboard.

So this is the call to all you EXTREME winter sports lovers out there: Get out the boards, skis, coats and goggles! Gear up, strap in, and feel the excitement! Smell it in the air, see it in the trees. Winter is coming!

"Come home"

Hey guys, here's a song I wrote last week.

Verse 1:
You cry all night when you get home,
You say you're fine, but feel so alone,

You've got questions you've got pain,
You think I'm perfect, but were the same,

God is calling:

Chorus:
Come on home! Come on home! come home and lose your fears,
I died for you, so you could live, let me wipe away your tears,
I chose you, now its time, for you to choose me,
AND BE FREE

Verse 2:
We've all got problems of our own,
We're all broken, you're not alone,

There is a God who's felt all you feel,
And through it all, His love is real,

And He is calling:

(chorus)

Florence Skate Park!

If you read my last post about my trip to the Creation Museum, I left out one little part. (Personally it might even be my favorite part of the trip)

By random chance, (I'd say God's love to me) we got somewhat lost on the way to our hotel the very first night and ended up driving right by this HUGE skatepark that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. AND being me, of course I had my skateboard with me.

It rained all week while we were there, and it being an outdoor park, I didn't have any opportunities to ride it until Friday night, our last night there. God let it stop raining long enough for the park to dry just enough to skate.

Erik (my brother) and I went to the skatepark for several hours and him being a photographer, we got some good shots and some footage. I finished editing the good shots and thats what these are. As for the footage, I'm giving the clips to LUKE MYERS this sunday for him to work some magic on. haha :)

I could have stayed there all week. It was such a cool blessing that God gave specifically to me, and I think thats pretty Extreme! Well, enjoy.
