Extreme Weekend (part two)

After a crazy extreme day of crunching metal, blood, broken glass, greasy McDonald's food, hospital beds, tears and laughs, we decided to STILL go as planned to the Bible study at the cafe and street witnessing in downtown Geneseo.

This would be the GOOD extreme. Even though I was REALLY tired and had a bad headache I decided that God obviously kept me alive earlier that day for a reason. So I decided to go, and DUDE! I'm glad I did! As soon as we hit the streets with the skateboards I felt totally alive and awake! It was THE night to do it, because it's a college town and all the students are finishing their work this week and Friday was the main party night. So there were tons of teens and college age people walking around.

We handed out maybe about 60 tracts and actually witnessed to about 15-20 people, handed out maybe 10 new testaments, it was AMAZING! And it was ALL on God's strength not mine because I was pretty much dead. I was able to witness to many of those people because of skateboarding so that was totally rad for me, that God could use what I do to reach dudes for him. And through playing music outside the cafe too! But the biggest conversation starter was the car wreck!

Just goes to show that God DOES work all things together for good for those who loves him. And although it's WAY easier to say it than to believe it, IT IS TRUE!!

Stay Extreme,
I'M OUT

Extreme Weekend (part one)

This weekend was a weekend of two extremes for sure. Extreme bad, and extreme good.

It starts with the bad... We were on our way to the cases with our minivan packed full with seven people, when we got in an almost head on collision outside of warsaw. It was crazy. We all came several feet away from either dying or severe injuries, but ONLY by God's grace we were all safe except for some bruises and scrapes and minor whiplash.

Also I had my skateboard rail in the middle of our van leaning up against the middle bench, about a foot and a half in front of Katy Case, who was sitting on my left in the middle-back seat. So when we smashed, she went foward and hit her face on the rail just below her left eye. God is soo good, if it had been just a few inches different she could have been blind or not here anymore! Because of MY stupid idea to put it there, but by God's grace she's ok. (sigh)

Then went to the ER to get checked out and they were booked so that took FIVE HOURS!! Then when we finally got back to my home away from home we all crashed.

Change

This is a song I wrote today, I really like it, too bad I type music, because the tune is pretty sweet too. Enjoy :D

VERSE 1:
They say change, act like they do,
You begin to think its true,
That who you are is second rate,
You’re filled with fear and filled with hate,

Now who you are is what you aren’t,
And you’re about to fall apart,
So drop this act and end this show,
Just be yourself and let it go….

CHORUS:
You don’t have to change for me,
(I’ll love you anyway), just wait and see,
You can just be your self, it’s what God made you to be,
You don’t have to change, Oh please don’t change for me.

VERSE 2:
You’re not this, and you’re not that,
You’re too thin or you’re too fat,
If words could kill than you’d be dead,
All these thoughts inside your head,

You talk too fast, or talk to slow,
I don’t care, I hope you know,
Cuz it’s not true, and they’re all wrong,
You’re my friend, so hear this song…..

CHORUS

VERSE 3:
When they say no, God says yes,
You don’t have to be the best,
Cuz he loves you for who you are,
He’s in control and never far,

He sent his son to Calvary,
Gave his life, so you’d be free,
But he’s alive, he’s not dead,
This is what he has said…..

Alternate chorus:

You don’t have to change for me,
I love you anyway, just wait and see,
You can just be your self, it’s what I made you to be,
You don’t have to change, Oh please don’t change for me.

Two Extremes - Genesis Chapter Uno

I titled this post, “Two Extremes” because Genesis one talks about Creation vs. Evolution.

Verses 11 and 12: God makes the plants.
“Then God said, ‘Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.’ And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.”

Did you notice anything interesting in those verses? The little phrase “according to their kinds.” What that means is an apple tree only produces apples, and apple seeds, and a pear tree only produces pears and pear seeds. Same thing with bushes, grass, flowers; whatever plant you want. There are many different types of apples, but notice, they’re still apples. there are many different types of grass, but its still grass. Not something in between.

Verses 20 and 21: God makes the fish and birds.
“And God said, ‘Let the water teen with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.’ So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”

Same thing here, “according to their kinds”, sharks are sharks, whales are whales, sweetish fish are still sweetish fish.

Verses 24 and 25: God makes the land animals.
“And God said, ‘Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.’ And it was so. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the earth according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good."

Wow, and if you didn’t get that already, God made all the animals ACCORDING TO THEIR KINDS. I mean, he said it five times in two verses. I think he means it! So next time some text book written by MAN tells you that you came from a monkey, tell them “DUDE!! GOD said that he made monkeys ACCORDING TO THEIR KIND. And though there are lots of different types of monkeys, they’re still monkeys.

God-given Opportunity

Yesterday God just plopped an extreme opportunity right In my lap. My unsaved friend Joe came over to skate and brought the Bible and devo book that he got at our dodge ball tourney our youth group hosted a week ago. I asked him why he brought it and he said he didn’t understand it and wanted me to explain it to him.

WOW!! It was pretty extreme!! I felt like the Philip dude on the road to Damascus in Acts chapter 8 when God just sends this dude to him asking Philip to explain the Bible to him.

Anyway, since the devo book was on Genesis, I decided it would be a good place to start, so we did a Bible study on Genesis, chapter uno. I read through it, explaining it as I went along.

With God, life should ALWAYS be extreme. If not, then there's something wrong with you and God.

Keep it Extreme,

Lets Get This Started

My name is Cody Lutz. I am 16 and a junior in high school, Im homeschooled, and I am a complete skateboard and snowboard addict. Extreme sports is what I love to do, but thats not what makes my life so rad.

I'm a hardcore Christian and Jesus Freak to the max. Jesus Christ is the MOST important thing in my life. He gives me joy and true happiness thats way better than finally nailing a trick, or flying down the mountain. Even when hard things happen, and life gets pretty gnarly, He is ALWAYS there for me, and loves me even though I havn't always loved him.

I decided to start a blog because a lot of my friends have them, and for anyone out there in internet land that might actualy think anything I say is actually interesting. **polite smile** (yeah, RIGGHT)

As you can tell, Im not the best writer, Im not out to WOW you with my wonderful writing skills. I just write about my life and what I love to do, and thats praising my God, skateboarding, snowboarding, singing and chillin with my peeps.

I dont know how often Ill be able to post on this thing, so im not gonna make a bunch of promises. But Im going to try to post as often as possible, whatever that means.

SOOO, if you like what I have to say, then tell your friends, tell your mom........tell your moms friends, I dont really care, so long as some one reads my mindless writings.

Heres a lil eye candy for ya, and IM OUT. So go help your grandma down the stairs already.
